Description
You are going on a private group hike through the vineyards of the Chablais. An enotourism guide will lead you along paths for about two kilometers through the vineyards and villages.
Your guide will tell you about the vineyard’s history and the traditional grape varieties grown here. They will share stories about the families who built it up and what their daily work looks like.
At a family-owned winery, you’ll take part in a wine tasting (cost not included).
Practical information:
- Bring: a cap, sunscreen, rain gear, sports shoes, sunglasses, warm clothing, a bottle of water
- During the tasting, fruit juice will be offered to children.
Vineyards of Chablais
The vineyards of Chablais stretch between Aigle, Bex, and Yvorne in eastern Vaud. Steep slopes and sunny terraces characterise the landscape along the Rhône Valley.
The soils consist of limestone and schist, providing ideal conditions for robust wines. Typical for Chablais are Chasselas, Pinot Noir, and distinctive specialty wines.
