Val Grande Canyoning Expert for Experienced Adventurers from Gordevio

This canyoning trip in Val Grande is designed for experienced participants comfortable in challenging terrain. You’ll encounter high abseil points, narrow passages, clear cold water, and polished granite. Optional jumps, slides, and varied water sections add to the adventure.

The first part is vertical, winding through tight gorge sections. Later, the canyon opens up and becomes smoother with smaller abseils, walking sections, and playful features. After a tributary, there’s a particularly demanding stretch with increased water flow.

In the second part, the gorge broadens even more. Sunny pools, optional jumps, and slides round off this long day trip. The mix of technique, water passages, and open canyon make Val Grande especially diverse.

• Avoid wearing cotton clothes
• Glasses or contact lenses are okay; recommended are a glasses strap and a waterproof case
• Remove jewelry and piercings before the tour

• Hypoallergenic neoprene suit (2-piece; pants and jacket) with hood
• Canyoning shoes and hypoallergenic neoprene socks
• Canyoning harness and two self-belay devices with screw-lock carabiners
• Helmet tested for rock impacts

• Swimwear (swimming trunks, swimsuit, bikini)
• Towel
• For the ascent and cooler temperatures or if you generally feel cold, you can wear tight-fitting functional underwear
• Ski base layers or similar that can also be worn under the wetsuit. IMPORTANT: They should be made of synthetic fibre or merino wool (not cotton, as it cools rather than warms).
• Change of clothes for after the tour
• Any necessary medication for you (asthma spray, allergy meds, etc.)
• Food/drinks for before and after
• Sunscreen (waterproof)

• Minimum age: around 16 years
• Conducted with at least 2 people
• Surefootedness required, no fear of heights, the climb is steep
• Bring swimwear, towel, change of clothes, and necessary medication
• Canyon, start time, and requirements may be adjusted due to weather
• Required: average swimming skills, good general health, good fitness level, and surefootedness
• Advantageous: experience with rappelling and canyoning
