Wildlife watching ibex, stag, chamois and co. in the Weisstannental valley

Join an experienced Swiss Ranger on an exciting tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona. In the Weisstannental valley, you can observe various wild animals in their natural habitat.

The tour starts at 09:15 at the post bus station Weisstannen, Oberdorf. The tour takes you through the remote Weisstannen Valley. A gigantic natural landscape with waterfalls up to 80 m high awaits you here. The Swiss Ranger will tell you lots of exciting stories about nature and its inhabitants.

You will be guided to the places where you can best observe animals such as deer, roe deer, bearded vultures, chamois and ibex. With a bit of luck, you will have the chance to spot one or two animals in the wild.

The tour ends at 16:45 back at the starting point.

Practical information:

• Bad weather program: lecture on the release of the ibex and further information on ibex at the Alte Post in Weisstannen
• Take along: weatherproof clothing, sturdy footwear, binoculars, snacks, lunch, drinks
• Degree of difficulty: medium (560 meters in altitude / approx. 4 km per trail)
• Not suitable for people with knee problems

After this exciting and strenuous hike, you can enjoy yourself at the Cosa Nostra pizzeria in Mels. Here you can expect cuisine "just like at Nonna's house". Look forward to delicious Italian dishes, warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere.
