The Ägerisee lies at 724 m asl in the canton of Zug, nestled among gentle morainic hills. The approximately 7.2 km² large lake reaches depths of up to 83 m and has been used as a drinking water reservoir since 1992. On the lake's shore, the famous Battle of Morgarten took place in 1315.
