The Tête-Noire gorge is located in Valais, close to the border with France (Chamonix). It is characterized by its steep, dark rock faces and dense vegetation, which create a mysterious atmosphere. A path was created here in 1884, leading down through the forest on steep stone steps. You then reach the bottom of the gorge via bridges and footbridges. A whole series of idyllic waterfalls await you here. They all gush over a flat rocky outcrop and are known as the first secret of the gorge. There is a second secret, which you can reach via further steps: a nymph grotto. The Tête-Noire gorge is perfect for canyoning beginners.
