Oeschinensee Cable Car Ticket from Kandersteg (Reservation not included)

The cable car operates with 8-seater gondolas starting from Kandersteg and takes just under 5 minutes to reach the mountain station.

• Valley station: Kandersteg (1200 m asl)
• Mountain station: Oeschinen (1680 m asl)

In summer, you can hike from the Oeschinen mountain station approximately 30 minutes to Oeschinensee. An electric shuttle also runs to the lake for visitors with limited mobility. From the mountain station at Oeschinen, you can also enjoy the summer toboggan run.

In winter, you can slide or hike from the mountain station to Oeschinensee. The trail down to Kandersteg is not accessible in winter.

Practical information:

• The Junior Card is valid on the Kandersteg-Oeschinensee cable car. Show it at the ticket office to receive a free Junior Card gondola ticket.
• The E-shuttle primarily serves people with limited mobility.

For the cable car ride from Kandersteg to the Oeschinensee mountain station, a mandatory reservation is highly recommended during the summer season—especially in good weather and on weekends. The reservation helps to avoid long wait times at the valley station and to better manage the visitor flow.

You need to make this reservation in addition to your ticket. It can be booked at https://oeschinensee.ch/reservation.

• Choose a time slot: When purchasing your reservation, you can select a window for the mountain ride.
• Punctuality is key: You can arrive at the cable car within your chosen slot. The cable car runs continuously, but late entry is not guaranteed if you miss your slot.
• Downward journey flexibility: No reservation is needed for the return trip. You can return to the valley at any time.
• Book early: It is recommended to book well in advance, especially during peak season. If your preferred date is fully booked, you will no longer be able to purchase a ticket for that time window.

Cable Car:

• Summer: mid-May to end October: 08:30 to 17:00 (mid-June to mid-September until 18:00)
• Winter: mid-December to mid-March: 09:00 to 17:00

E-Shuttle:

• Between Oeschinen Gondola Station and Oeschinensee: from mid-May to end October
• The E-Shuttle runs every half hour (or when full) daily from 11:00 to 16:30, until 17:30 in summer.
• No seats are guaranteed. Therefore, these tickets cannot be booked in advance.

• Please read the information under "Reservation Oeschinensee" thoroughly before booking this ticket!
• For your journey by cable car, it is highly recommended to reserve a time slot at https://oeschinensee.ch/reservation. This helps you avoid waiting times and guarantees your ride.
• Without a reservation, longer wait times may occur, and in rare cases, transportation might no longer be possible. Ticket refunds are not available in these cases.
• If you are denied the ride, ask the staff on site for a written confirmation. Only then can we claim a possible refund.
• Check the cable car timetable on the day of travel.
