Oeschinensee Cable Car Ticket from Kandersteg (Reservation not included)

The cable car runs with 8-person gondolas from Kandersteg and takes just under 5 minutes to reach the mountain station.

• Valley station: Kandersteg (1200 m above sea level)
• Mountain station: Oeschinen (1680 m above sea level)

In summer, you can hike from Oeschinen mountain station to Oeschinensee in about 30 minutes. An electric shuttle also runs here for people with limited mobility. From Oeschinen mountain station, you can also ride the summer toboggan run.

In winter, you can toboggan or hike from the mountain station to Oeschinensee. The hiking trail down to Kandersteg is not accessible in winter.

Practical information:

• The Junior Card is valid on the Kandersteg-Oeschinensee cable car. When you show it at the ticket office, you will receive a free Junior Card gondola ticket.
• The electric shuttle is primarily reserved for people with limited mobility.

A mandatory reservation strongly recommended for the cable car trip from Kandersteg to the Oeschinensee mountain station during the summer season—particularly when the weather is clear and on weekends. The reservation helps avoid long waiting times at the valley station and better coordinates visitor flow.

You need to make the reservation in addition to this ticket. It can be made at https://oeschinensee.ch/reservation.

• Choose a time slot: When purchasing the reservation, you can select a window for the mountain ascent.
• Punctuality is key: You may enter the cable car within the chosen slot. The cable car runs continuously, but a later boarding cannot be guaranteed if you miss your slot.
• Flexible downhill journey: No reservation for the descent time slot is required. You can return to the valley at any time.
• Book early: It is advised to book in advance, especially during peak season. If your preferred date is fully booked, you will no longer be able to purchase a ticket for that time frame.

Gondola Lift:

• In summer: mid-May to end-October: 08:30 to 17:00 (mid-June to mid-September until 18:00)
• In winter: mid-December to mid-March: 09:00 to 17:00

E-Shuttle:

• Between Oeschinen Valley Station and Oeschinensee: from mid-May to end-October
• The E-Shuttle runs every half hour (or when full) daily from 11:00 to 16:30, until 17:30 in summer.
• Seats are not guaranteed. Therefore, these tickets cannot be booked in advance.

• Please read the information under "Reservation Oeschinensee" carefully before booking this ticket!
• For your cable car journey, booking a timeslot at https://oeschinensee.ch/reservation is highly recommended. This way, you avoid waiting times and secure a guaranteed ride.
• Without a reservation, there may be longer waiting times, and in exceptional cases, transportation might no longer be possible. Ticket refunds are not possible in these cases.
• If you are denied the ride, request a written confirmation from the staff on-site. Only then can we claim a possible refund.
• Due to the limited number of parking spaces, we recommend using public transportation during the peak season.
• Check the cable car timetable on the day of your trip.
