Description
With this ticket you reach Ristis from Engelberg with the cable car. It is a 65-person cable car and takes about 3 minutes to Ristis
From Ristis you have several possibilities for your winter activities:
- winter hiking, snowshoeing
- climbing garden Bettlerstock
- sledging or skiing
You will find the valley station next to the Klostermatte, the ski practice area. The ski bus stop is also located here.
Route mountain railway
- Bottom station: Engelberg (1016 m above sea level)
- top station: Ristis (1605 m above sea level)
Winter hikes:
- Circular Schneetandliweg: 45 min walk from Ristis via Riedalp to Obrist Flühmatt and back. A large part of the 2.5 km trail leads through white fir forest. With only 150 meters of altitude difference it is an easy hike. On the way there is the Yeti Park.
- Ristis - Bergli - Fellenrüti: The pleasant panoramic hike leads over a wide road down from the mountain station Ristis. On a length of 8 km you overcome 600 meters of altitude and need about 2.5 hours. In the opposite direction you should plan about 40 min more. A free bus runs between Fellenrüti and Engelberg.
Snowshoe hikes:
- Riedalp Trail: From the Ristis mountain station you hike with the snowshoes in an easterly direction. Leave the winter hiking trail at the junction to the lookout point with a view of the Hahnen. Via Ried you return to the winter hiking trail to Ristis. Length 2.5 km, 1:30 hours, 120 vertical meters.
- Schönenbodentrail-Trail: 3.5 km long you walk 2 hours along a circular trail that leads past the valley station back to the top. This trail is more demanding than the RiedalpTrail.
Practical information:
- Large parking lot at the valley station Engelberg (5 CHF per day)
- Free bus service from Engelberg train station to the Brunni valley station in winter
- Dogs require their own tickets
Swiss Activities Tip
Directly behind the mountain station Ristis lies the children's adventure park Yeti Park. Children can sled and ski here on the practice area and improve their skills

With pram or wheelchair
The panoramic hiking trail between Ristis and Brunnihütte is passable with an all-terrain pram or wheelchair. Between Ristis and Rigidal the path is asphalt. From Rigidal to the Brunnihütte it is a gravel path that requires some strength. Downhill it is easier.
All other paths are not passable with a wheelchair or a pram.
