With the aerial cableway, you can easily travel from the Bettmeralp valley station up to the car-free Bettmeralp (1970 m above sea level). Bettmeralp is a popular mountain village and an ideal starting point for hikes and excursions.

To reach the Bettmerhorn viewpoint, you transfer from Bettmeralp onto the Bettmerhorn cable car. The cable car takes you up to the Bettmerhorn (2647 m above sea level), where you will be greeted by one of the most spectacular views of the Great Aletsch Glacier.

Various hiking trails from the Bettmerhorn offer spectacular views of the Aletsch Glacier, such as towards Märjelensee or Eggishorn. The most popular route is the Bettmerhorn – Eggishorn – Fiescheralp hike.

• For extra luggage, luggage trolleys (charged) can be rented. All transports are valid for the route from the valley Bettmeralp to the plateau Bettmeralp and usage is only permitted within the railway premises.

At Bettmeralp, you'll find over 50 accommodation options, mainly holiday apartments and cabins. There are also rooms that allow dogs and lodgings well suited for cyclists.

Dogs (over 30 cm shoulder height) require a dog ticket (50% of the regular second class ticket, but at least the specified minimum fare). Smaller dogs travel free in boxes.
