Description
With this train ticket, you can travel from Zurich to Chur or from Chur to Zurich. Optionally, you can also book a return ticket right away. The route between both cities is very scenic as you travel along Lake Zurich and Lake Walen. Along the way, you also pass through the Zimmerberg Base Tunnel.

The express train takes about 1 hour 30 minutes for this route. It usually only stops at 2 or 3 of the listed stations. Most often these are the stops Ziegelbrücke and Sargans or Sargans and Landquart.

Swiss Activity Tip
When traveling from Zurich to Chur, it's best to sit on the left side facing the direction of travel for the best view of the two lakes. On the route from Chur to Zurich, sitting on the right side works best.

- SBB trains increasingly feature low-floor entrances (marked as LF in the timetable).
- The SBB Callcenter Handicap arranges assistance for transfers where platforms haven’t been raised and floors haven’t been aligned yet. It helps you prepare for barrier-free travel or if you need support while on the move.
Out and about with the dog
- Small dogs up to 30 cm can travel for free if they remain in a carrier for the entire journey. This must be placed under your seat.
- Dogs without a carrier and all dogs over 30 cm at shoulder height require a valid dog ticket: half the 2nd class price or the minimum fare (dog day ticket, dog pass). They must sit under the seat to keep the aisle clear for other passengers.

I had to pay processing fees of 2.90 francs to book a ticket worth 21 francs. That's outrageous! I might as well book directly on the SBB website!

I was able to book the train ticket online and then received it as a PDF. I saved it on my phone and showed it to both the train driver and the conductor.
