Description
This one-day transition course is perfect for you if you already have experience kitesurfing on the water. An experienced instructor will teach you the differences and show you how to properly get started with snowkiting.
You can choose between skis and a snowboard and learn everything from the perfect takeoff to various flight directions and safe landings. The Simplon high plateau offers the ideal conditions for kiting, so nothing stands in the way of your snowkite adventure.
You will meet your kite instructor and other course participants at the Snowkiting School in Simplon. Skis or a snowboard are not included in the course, so be sure to bring your own skis or snowboard.
The course lasts between 3 and 4 hours and brings you to SST Level 3C. During this time, you will learn:
- how to start snowkiting on skis or a snowboard
- how to properly assess the wind
- various flying maneuvers
- speed control
- how to maintain correct body posture and much more.
Practical Information:
- If arriving by car, winter tires are required
- Wind conditions: 6-7 knots are ideal for snowkiting
- Snow conditions: not too much fresh snow is perfect for beginners.
Important Information
- The prerequisite is that you can ride up-wind on the water
- Dress: Warm clothing
- Bring: Sun protection, skis or snowboard
