Two pieces of luggage per person (Mörel-Riederalp)
With the cable car, you can comfortably ride from Mörel up to the car-free Riederalp. You have two options to choose from: a large panoramic gondola to Riederalp Centre or smaller six-person cabins to Riederalp West.
To reach the viewpoint on Moosfluh, you take a cable car from Riederalp Centre. The modern combination cable car (six-seat cabins and eight-person cabins) takes you to the impressive Moosfluh at 2333 m above sea level with a direct view of the Great Aletsch Glacier.
Hohfluh can be visited in winter via a four-seat cable car (with weather protection covers) from Riederalp West (only in stable weather conditions). In summer, you can reach it on foot. The two viewpoints, Moosfluh and Hohfluh, are about two kilometres apart (as the crow flies). A scenic trail connects them and offers additional views along the way.
The two valley stations of the Riederalp cable car are located right next to each other in Mörel. The journey takes approximately 12 minutes each way.
The travel time takes approximately 7 minutes.
The travel time takes approximately 4 minutes. The facility is open during the high season from mid-July to mid-August
Between the two viewpoints runs a well-signposted hiking trail. The most popular is the panoramic winter walk from Moosfluh via Hohfluh to Riederfurka and back to Riederalp (approximately 5.7 km, 1 hour 45 minutes, mostly downhill).
On the Riederalp you will find over 30 accommodations, mainly holiday apartments and huts. Among them are also rooms with dogs and lodgings that are suitable for cyclists or skiers.
You can easily travel to Riederalp with a baby stroller. Many paths in the village and on the high plateau are well accessible, especially with an all-terrain stroller.
Riederalp is awarded the 'Family Welcome' quality seal and offers many family-friendly activities.
Dogs (over 30 cm shoulder height) need a dog ticket (50% of the regular second-class ticket, but at least the set minimum fare). Small dogs travel free in carriers.
Please observe local rules such as leash requirements in certain areas to protect nature and other guests.
