From Interlaken Ost, you can choose between two routes with your Jungfraujoch ticket – either via Lauterbrunnen or via Grindelwald. The route you take to reach Jungfraujoch is the same route you take back to Interlaken.
Via Grindelwald, you take the cable car “Eiger Express” from Grindelwald Terminal to the Eigergletscher station. In just 15 minutes, the modern cable car opened in 2020 will take you from Grindelwald to the station. Along the way, you'll enjoy an incredible view of the mighty, 1800 m high Eiger North Face. At Eigergletscher, you transfer to the cogwheel train and pass through the Eiger and Mönch massif to Jungfraujoch.
Via Lauterbrunnen, the cogwheel train takes you via Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg. On the way, you'll pass by the world-famous Lauberhorn downhill ski course. You'll be amazed at how steep this downhill race course is. At Kleine Scheidegg, you transfer to the cogwheel train that takes you up to Jungfraujoch.
At Eismeer station on the way to Jungfraujoch, there is a brief stop. Here, you can admire and photograph the impressive glacier through a large panoramic window.
Practical information
Travelling with a wheelchair or stroller is recommended via the 3S-Bahn Eiger Express from Grindelwald Terminal (via Eigergletscher station).
When approaching via Kleine Scheidegg, Jungfrau Railways cannot always guarantee the transportation service.
The Jungfraujoch itself is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Access to the Ice Palace is equipped with a wheelchair lift.
Groups of three or more wheelchairs should inform the ticket office at the departure station about their trip. This allows any necessary assistance to be organised.
A roughly 45-minute hike takes you from Jungfraujoch via the glacier to Mönchsjochhütte, which is situated at 3,657 meters above sea level. The trail is well signposted and maintained. This easy walk is suitable for children as well. Make sure to wear good shoes and nothing will stand in the way of your adventure in the Swiss mountain world.
