You discover in the Swiss History Forum Schwyz the development of Swiss folk music from its origins to the present day. You can see and try out different instruments such as Schwyzerörgeli, alphorn, hammered dulcimer, and yodel.
Sound samples, historic exhibits, and musician portraits illustrate the change of styles and traditions. You learn how melodies travel, styles blend, and regional specialties emerge. At participatory stations, you can directly try making music, yodeling, or dancing.
There is an audio guide available for children that can be loaded onto their own smartphones. The children can enjoy a playful guided tour through the exhibition using the app, accompanied by Eichi.
