"Breakfast on the Mountain": Picnic Breakfast at Seebodenalp

Everything tastes better in the mountains. Whether it’s the previous hike, the fresh air, or the view. No breakfast tastes better than the one you enjoy in the mountains.

And if you prefer to be pampered, the breakfast picnic is the perfect choice.

Prepared breakfast for 2 in a backpack with local delicacies:

• Croissants and rolls
• fresh butter, chocolate spread, jam, and honey
• sliced cheese & cold cuts
• homemade bircher muesli
• Greek yogurt with honey and blueberries
• various seasonal fruit
• sweet treats
• drinks: coffee, tea, chai & cocoa, and orange juice

At the valley station of the Seebodenalp aerial cableway, a packed backpack is waiting for you and your companion. It's recommended to take the cable car at 8:30 AM. Additional rides depart at the top and half past each hour.

Once you reach the top, you can set off using the included overview map and hike while hungry, or you can have breakfast first and then go for your hike. The choice is yours.

You should return the backpack with the cutlery and dishes at the cable car station downstairs.

At Seebodenalp, you have the chance to learn more about the Ice Age and its effects. The hiking trail "Gletscherspur" takes you past notable spots and provides additional information. Here at Seebodenalp, you can see the distinctive lateral moraine of the Reuss Glacier, and the so-called Albert Heim Stone is also an important witness to history. This boulder marks the starting point of the circular route following the traces of the Ice Age.
