Ausserberg has a very special atmosphere. In addition to ancient Valais houses, you will find numerous wooden barns here. Black-necked goats and black-nosed sheep, whose livestock have been raised here for centuries, still spend the winter here. The inhabitants solve the lack of water on the hot southern slope of the village by suonen, which were even installed along the rock walls. Suonen bring the glacier water down.
