"Lakes, Ruins and Viewpoints" - Discover Interlaken by E-Bike

On the e-bike tour "Lakes, Ruins and Viewpoints," you start from Wilderswil and ride to some of the best viewpoints in the Interlaken area. Along the way, you explore the ruins of Unspunnen and Weissenau and learn more about their history.

A detour to Heimwehfluh offers wide-ranging views over Interlaken, the Aare River, and Lake Thun. Afterwards, you roll through forests and along fields all the way to the shores of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.

In Unterseen and Bönigen, you get to know the quieter, more traditional sides of the holiday region away from the main roads. Thanks to the e-bike assistance, you can easily handle the climbs and fully enjoy the landscape and photo stops.

Wilderswil is the starting point of the tour. You can be picked up at the following locations:

• Interlaken Ost station, Untere Bönigstrasse, 3800 Interlaken
• Interlaken West station, Bahnhofstrasse, 3800 Interlaken
• Matten near Interlaken, Hotel Sonne (bus stop), Hauptstrasse 34, 3800 Matten near Interlaken
• Wilderswil station, Bahnhofstrasse, 3812 Wilderswil

• 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM Pickup at selected locations, transfer to Wilderswil, bike setup, helmets, and a brief safety briefing.
• 1:45 PM – 2:15 PM Ride to the Unspunnen castle ruins. Explore the 13th-century fortress and learn more about the Unspunnen Festival.
• 2:15 PM – 2:45 PM Panoramic hike to the Heimwehfluh lookout point. Enjoy beautiful views of Interlaken, the Aare River, and Lake Thun.
• 2:45 PM – 3:30 PM Descend to Weissenau Castle by Lake Thun. Atmospheric ruins surrounded by reeds and birdlife.
• 3:30 PM – 3:45 PM Continue to the shore of Lake Thun. Relax and soak in the tranquil lakeside atmosphere.
• 3:45 PM – 4:00 PM Ride along the Lombach stream through farmland to Unterseen. Short trip through the old town with its cobbled streets.
• 4:00 PM – 4:15 PM Cross the Aare River and pass by Casino Park & Fountain while riding through the town of Interlaken.
• 4:15 PM – 4:40 PM Follow the river to Lake Brienz and onward to Bönigen. Enjoy stunning views of the turquoise lake.
• 4:40 PM – 5:00 PM Return through quiet paths past churches, farms, and meadows back to Wilderswil. Cross the historic wooden water bridge before passing traditional chalets and the Schynige Platte station.
