Important women from the small town in Aargau were certainly Agnes von Rheinfelden and Nanette Kalenbach. Agnes von Rheinfelden was a princess and duchess around the year 1000 and, as a noblewoman, was able to exert a great influence on the development of the Zähringer town.

Nanette Kalenbach campaigned against poverty in Rheinfelden at the beginning of the 20th century and has thus gone down in the town's history
