Boggera canyoning for active beginners from Cresciano

This canyoning tour takes you to the Boggera inferiore near Cresciano. You'll find clear pools, plenty of slides, optional jumps, and some tricky abseil spots on bright granite. Many sections can be skipped or bypassed.

Before starting, you reach the gorge via an approach. There, a pool offers the chance to practise jumping, sliding, and abseiling. Afterwards, you’ll go through varied water sections and two abseil points.

The Boggera Canyon is one of the well-known gorges in Ticino. A distinctive feature is the narrow slot you reach on this tour. During busy times, there may be waiting times in the gorge.

Useful information:

• Remove jewellery and piercings before the tour
• Avoid wearing cotton fabrics
• Glasses wearers: contact lenses or a glasses strap, plus a waterproof case

• Hypoallergenic neoprene suit (2-piece; pants and jacket) with hood
• Canyoning shoes and hypoallergenic neoprene socks
• Canyoning harness and two self-locking devices with screw gate carabiners
• Impact-resistant helmet

• Swimwear (swimming trunks, swimsuit, bikini)
• Towel
• For climbing and in colder weather or if you usually feel cold, you can wear tight-fitting functional underwear
• Ski underwear or similar that you can also wear under the wetsuit. IMPORTANT: It should be made of synthetic fibres or merino wool (not cotton, as it cools rather than warms).
• Change of clothes for after the tour
• Any necessary medication for you (asthma spray, allergy medication, etc.)
• Food/drinks for before/after
• Sunscreen (waterproof)
