Avalanche Basics Course in Adelboden

In the Avalanche Basic Course at the Alpinschule Adelboden, you will learn the fundamentals of assessing avalanche situations based on the avalanche bulletin. You will be trained in the use of the avalanche transceiver (LVS) and learn how to determine slope inclinations.

Furthermore, you will find out how to react properly after a snow slab failure. Under the guidance of a mountain guide, you will learn to assess risks to make future tours and freeride descents safer.

Clothing:

• Warm underwear
• Long pants
• Warm socks like Falke or Rohner
• Ski pants, not too heavily insulated

• 1 pair of warm gloves
• Hat
• possibly headband or sweatband
