Sun terrace above Lake Walen
Hiking on mountain paths and narrow alpine roads
Spruce and mountain pine forests
Break at the Alpe Furgglen
Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Switzerland on the way with a comfortable chairlift that takes you up to 1300m. Enjoy a coffee break at the top station before setting off on your way east. The route takes you along mountain paths and narrow alpine roads, past vast alpine pastures and through spruce and mountain pine forests where, if you feel like it, you can grill sausages at a beautiful "Swiss Family" barbecue area.
The trail leads you uphill and suddenly you reach the Furgglen Alps, a good example of a remote alpine plateau where intense economic activities can take place in summer in an otherwise barren landscape. Watch Swiss cows grazing peacefully and enjoy some more wonderful views before descending 250 m to the end of the trail.
At the end of the hike, take a bus and then a train back to the starting point at Zurich Central Station.
