Description

Jungfraujoch is one of the most famous destinations in Switzerland and no traveler should miss this highlight. Leave the bustling city of Lucerne behind for a day and head to the unique panorama from the Jungfraujoch.

Your trip starts in Lucerne, where you board the comfortable coach and make your way to Interlaken. The bus ride is accompanied by a professional tour guide who will introduce you to the region. After a short stay in Interlaken, nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, you will continue to the idyllic mountain village of Grindelwald

Once there, you will board the cogwheel train to the Jungfraujoch. This unique ride takes you over Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch. The terminus is located at 3,454 meters and is the highest station in Europe. With an icy breeze on your face and crunching snow under your feet, a breathtaking panorama opens up to you. On one side you have a view of the Mittelland and the Vosges mountains. In the other direction you can see the world-famous Aletsch glacier, the longest glacier in Europe

Afterwards you go on the "Alpine Sensation" adventure tour, which was inaugurated on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Jungfrau Railway. The 250 meter long corridor brings the beginnings of the Jungfrau Railway back to life. Pictures from that time, music and frosty temperatures send a shiver down the spine of every visitor. Thanks to moving walkways, today's visitors have it easier than the miners of that time, but you will also feel redeemed when the giant snow globe shines towards you at the end of the corridor.

The fastest lift in Switzerland will then take you to the Sphinx Observatory with its viewing platform. The observatory is still used today by meteorologists, radiation researchers and astronomers for their research purposes. You will now have a unique view of the neighboring countries and the Aletsch Glacier, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is therefore world famous. The mountain panorama also offers you a view of the famous peaks of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. So be sure to bring your camera to capture this unique view.

Don't forget to explore the Ice Palace. This was built in the mid-thirties by mountain guides with picks and saws in the Jungfraufirn. Today it is decorated with ice sculptures created by artists. Eagle, penguin and bear look as if they have just been frozen into ice.

Finally, the descent takes you past the famous car-free alpine village of Wengen. After this unforgettable experience you will get back into the comfortable coach, which will take you back to Lucerne.
