Cable car Wasserauen Ebenalp Ticket
The cable car runs as a gondola lift from Wasserauen. There is room for 40 people per cabin. The journey to Ebenalp takes 6 minutes. The cable car runs at least every 15 minutes all year round.
- Valley station: Wasserauen (867 m above sea level)
- Mountain station: Ebenalp (1590 m above sea level)
A panoramic terrace awaits you at the top with a view of the Appenzellerland and the Alpstein mountains. In addition to mountain hikes, climbing is also popular here. Paragliding from Ebenalp is also very popular.
The Wildkirchli caves and the Äscher mountain inn are closed in winter for safety reasons. In summer, however, they are popular excursion destinations and can be reached from Ebenalp in just 15 minutes.
With baby carriage and wheelchair
- Valley station and mountain station: cabin is wheelchair-accessible via ramp
- Exit mountain station to panorama hall and viewing terrace possible
- The mountain hiking trails start at the mountain station. The paths to the mountain inns are also not obstacle-free and have no ramps or railings.
- Changing table is available at the mountain station

Nice, not too intense trip to the Aescher. The ticket was easy to buy online. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, but nobody’s fault.
