You're placed right in the middle of the room and dive into the moving life story of two extraordinary figures. The virtual show takes place in the renovated swimming pool of the Kloster Bethanien, creating a touching atmosphere.

The experience world featuring the story of Niklaus and Dorothee Flüe allows you to experience history in a whole new way.

Practical Information:

• Getting there by public transport: take the train from Lucerne to Sarnen.
• From Sarnen train station, take the PostBus line 343 (Melchtal-Stöckalp) to St. Niklausen, stop at "Alte Post."
• From the "Alte Post" stop, it takes you 5-10 minutes on foot along a path ("Weidlistrasse") to Kloster Bethanien with the Lumeum.

Niklaus von Flüe and Dorothee Wyss lived in the 15th century. Niklaus was a politician, a father, and later a hermit. With Dorothee, he ran a farm in Flüeli, where they raised ten children together. When Niklaus followed his inner calling and retreated to the Ranft, Dorothee took over the responsibility for the family and the farm.

She continued the family life with great strength. Her role was crucial: she enabled Niklaus’ retreat and became a significant figure in the background. Their life represents trust, responsibility, and an independent faith journey. Today, Dorothee is recognized not just as the wife of a saint, but as a person with her own spiritual depth.

Her story symbolizes spiritual quest, trust, and strength, and is vividly brought to life in the light show 'Niklaus & Dorothee Alive' at the Lumeum.
