Marmot Trail Walking Ticket from Grindelwald

Your summer trip with the Marmot Trail hiking ticket has three stages:

1st Stage: Bus ride from Grindelwald to the Grosse Scheidegg

You board the GrindelwaldBus at Grindelwald station and travel to the Grosse Scheidegg (1962 m a.s.l.). The bus takes approximately 34 minutes for this route.

2nd Stage: Hike on the Marmot Trail

Here begins your hike, which goes over Grindelwald First and along Bachalpsee and Bachläger to Waldspitz. From the Grosse Scheidegg, you walk with gentle ups and downs to Grindelwald First. Along the way, you have a stunning view of the majestic Eiger Wall, as well as Schreckhorn and Finsteraarhorn.

Afterwards, you arrive at Bachalpsee, where you can admire the reflection of the towering mountains in the crystal-clear water. Continuing south-east, you pass through moorlands. You walk past small mountain streams into Bachläger and finally to Waldspitz.

3rd Stage: Bus ride from Waldspitz back to Grindelwald

The bus ride back to Grindelwald station takes about 30 minutes.

The Marmot Trail at Oberläger features a lovely barbecue area with marmot benches. On the way to First, you pass information boards and numerous carved marmots. The highlight is a photo wall where you and your family can take a picture together with the Munggi family.

• Bringing small dogs up to 30 cm is free of charge if they stay in a transport container throughout the journey. This container must be able to slide under your seat.
• Dogs without a container and all dogs taller than 30 cm at the shoulder require a valid dog ticket: half price of second class or the minimum fare (dog day pass, dog pass). They must sit under the seat to avoid blocking passage for other passengers.

• Please buy a separate ticket for each leg to get the complete walking ticket.
• With GA and Swiss Travel Pass, the half-fare ticket applies.
