Thun
Thun is idyllically situated on the shores of Lake Thun and its outflow, the Aare. It is considered the gateway to the Bernese Oberland and is an excellent starting point for excursions into the mountains. Thun is connected to Interlaken by paddle steamer via the lake route. The historic town center lies about 1.5 km from Lake Thun on the Aare River. Above it towers Thun Castle with its distinctive turrets.
