Sachseln

Sachseln is located in central Switzerland and, together with the pilgrimage site Flüeli-Ranft, is a popular destination. The historic village center and the dreamlike surroundings inspire visitors again and again. Sachseln has been classified as a village of national importance worthy of protection. It lies on the southeastern shore of Lake Sarnen and is only half an hour's drive from Lucerne and Lake Lucerne. The area around Sachseln offers ideal opportunities for water sports enthusiasts as well as for hikers and mountain bikers. The highest point in Sachseln is the Brünig Haupt at 2245 m above sea level. The Älggi Alp at 1645 m above sea level is the geographical center of Switzerland.
