Private guided hike to Pilatus
Professional guide: Swiss triathlete Nicolas Reinmann
Descent by cogwheel railway or cable car
This private mountain hike takes you from Alpnachstad up to the Pilatus. The route begins at the foot of the mountain, first passing through peaceful meadows and village paths. Then it continues into the forest, gradually ascending into alpine terrain.
As you climb higher, you leave the dense forest behind and move into rocky, sometimes exposed sections with limestone. The Pilatus, nicknamed Dragon Mountain, is one of the most famous summit destinations in Central Switzerland. At the top, you reach 2,128 metres above sea level and, on a clear day, enjoy extensive views over Lucerne and the surrounding mountains.
Depending on conditions, the descent is either on foot or (for a fee) via the cogwheel railway or gondola. This private tour thus combines a varied mountain route with a well-known summit above Lake Lucerne.
