Brunnen belongs to the municipality of Ingenbohl. It is located on Lake Lucerne, on its easternmost arm, called the Lake of Uri. Here is a stop of the shipping in the direction of Rütli - Flüelen. In the plain above Brunnen, the Leewater rises from springs with a remarkable amount of water. This is the origin of the place name Brunnen.
