Highlights
  • Enjoy traveling all day across the country with just one ticket
  • Travel through Switzerland on trains, boats, buses, postbuses, and trams
  • Take a panoramic train journey like the Glacier Express or Gotthard Panorama Express
  • Ride the mountain railway up to Rigi or Stanserhorn
  • Plan a day trip using public transport to any destination you choose
  • Use all public transport within the GA validity area
Description

You can use the half-fare day pass for your trip all over Switzerland. This means you can travel during one day (until 5:00 a.m. the next day) on all public transport. This also includes boats, buses, postal buses, and trams. Even the world-famous panoramic trains are included in the day pass! However, seat reservations will cost you extra.

Mountain railways are excluded from the day pass—except for the Rigi and the Stanserhorn. You can see which routes you can use on the map of the GA validity area.

On the Go with a Wheelchair

  • Wheelchair users increasingly find transport options with low-floor access.
  • The SBB Handicap Call Center arranges assistance for transfers where platforms have not yet been raised or floors adjusted. It helps you prepare for barrier-free travel or provides support if you need help on the way.
  • Ships are almost fully wheelchair accessible in 2nd class, provided mechanical wheelchairs are used.

Out and About with a Stroller

  • If possible, you should use a foldable stroller. It fits almost anywhere.

Traveling with Your Dog

  • Dogs up to a shoulder height of 30 cm travel free on most public transport. Condition: They must be placed in a suitable basket or carrier and kept under the seat as hand luggage. If they are no longer in the container, a separate ticket is required.
  • For all other dogs, a ticket is generally required. A dog day ticket is recommended as a combination with the half-fare card day pass.

Where is the day pass valid with a half-fare card in the Jungfrau region?

With this day pass, you do not get a discount on the mountain railways in Switzerland (except for Stanserhorn and Rigi). Around Interlaken, you won't save money on the following mountain railways: Harder Kulm, Schynige Platte, Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald First, and Schilthorn.

However, you can use the day pass up to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Mürren, and Wengen, and from there buy your ticket to the mountain summit.

Inclusions
  • Unlimited rides on all transport within the GA validity area

  • Valid until 5:00 AM the next day

It worked really well, and I could easily show the ticket directly from the app.
