“Great. We thought we would spend 1.5 to 2 hours with my 4-year-old daughter, but we ended up staying all afternoon.”
Riddes
Riddes is situated on an alluvial cone of the river La Fare, which flows into the Rhone in the north. The commune area stretches south of the Rhone valley plain far along the steep mountain slope. The village is known for its large orchards and extensive vineyards. Mont Gelé, located in the commune, is the highest point within Riddes at 3023 meters above sea level. In the high mountains there, the mountain lake Lac de Vaux and two other lakes are popular hiking destinations. In winter, the hiking area is transformed into a ski resort with ski schools and freeride trails.

“We experienced very attentive, friendly, and approachable staff on the cable car and in the restaurant. We are extremely grateful for that and would be proud of Switzerland if this were the standard. The two days in Mürren with Schilthorn were more than worth the money in every way.”
“A beautiful place. Friendly staff. Thanks for preserving the history.”
