Swiss Activities Tip

The UNESCO World Heritage site of Lavaux consists of steep, terraced vineyards that get a lot of sunshine. This is helped by the reflection from Lake Geneva as well as the stored heat from the many stone walls.

wheelchair

  • The SBB trains increasingly have low-floor entries (marked with NF in the schedule).
  • The SBB Callcenter Handicap organizes assistance when changing trains, where platforms are not yet raised and floors are not yet leveled. It helps you prepare for barrier-free travel or if you need help while on the go.

Out and about with the dog

  • Bringing small dogs up to 30 cm is free, as long as they stay in a transport container the whole time. This has to be placed under your seat.
  • Dogs without a container and all dogs over 30 cm shoulder height need a valid dog ticket: half the price of a 2nd class ticket or the minimum fare (dog day ticket, dog pass). They must sit under the seat to keep the passage clear for other travelers.
