“Great facilities- friendly staff . We got the cog wheel train from Vitznau to the Kaltbad and then hiked up to the Rigi Klum. We had lunch there and then hiked back to the KaltbadSpa. It was so relaxing after the hi out .”
Airolo
Airolo is located in Ticino at the southern end of the Gotthard Pass. This is where the Valle Leventina begins, which stretches all the way to Biasca. To the west of Airolo, you reach the Nufenen Pass through the Val Bedretto. However, the history of Airolo has always been shaped by the Gotthard Pass, which was used for trade and transportation. The St. Gotthard Museum in Airolo explains the influence and importance of the pass road. The fortresses of San Gottardo and Fort Hospiz are also worth a visit. Several prehistoric settlements show that Romans were already living in Airolo in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.

“We had a great time, amazing guide, very frienly and very professional. We loved it!”
“The landscape, the railway's route, and the old town of Domodossola are all amazing. However, in train operations, there’s often some improvisation. While it has its charm, there’s definitely room for improvement.”
“We experienced very attentive, friendly, and approachable staff on the cable car and in the restaurant. We are extremely grateful for that and would be proud of Switzerland if this were the standard. The two days in Mürren with Schilthorn were more than worth the money in every way.”
“Great slides and with the nice weather, there was never any waiting in line.”
“A beautiful place. Friendly staff. Thanks for preserving the history.”
