Culinary hike Garmil high altitude hike on the Pizol

A breathtaking high-altitude hike to the Garmil summit awaits you. Experience many spectacular views of the mountains, the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona and the Sarganserland. For a delicious and strengthening picnic on the way you will get a filled backpack with many regional delicacies.

The tour starts at the valley station in Wangs. Here you can pick up your backpack with the picnic package at the ticket office. We recommend that you start the tour at around 09:30. From Wangs you take the gondola and chair lift to Gaffia.

The hike starts at the mountain station Gaffia. From here, the trail goes uphill towards Basürla, which is followed by the ascent to the Garmil summit. This is the highest point of the hike. After a break at the summit cross, the trail goes down to Fürggli and along a zigzag path to Fälli. From here follows the descent to the gondola station Furt and the ride back to the valley to Wangs.

If you want to spend a few more days in the area, we recommend you to take advantage of the variety on the Pizol. Besides these spectacular hikes you can experience many other great activities. Especially fun is a ride on the mountain carts. Here you can look forward to a nearly 2200 m long, very winding and exciting track between Gaffia and Furt.
