Kandersteg has about 1000 inhabitants who still live in traditional wooden chalets. The municipal area also includes alpine parts and extends up to 3697 m above sea level at the Balmhorn. Kandersteg is the starting point for summer hikes of various degrees of difficulty. Very popular are hikes to Leukerbad, which lead over the Gemmi Pass. Lake Oeschinen in the wild and romantic Gasterntal is also a popular hiking destination. The via ferrata Allmenalp is considered one of the most spectacular via ferratas in the Alpine region

“Great. We thought we would spend 1.5 to 2 hours with my 4-year-old daughter, but we ended up staying all afternoon.”
“Great experience !!”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My first-ever paragliding experience in Interlaken, Switzerland, and it was absolutely amazing! 🇨🇭🪂 The views were breathtaking, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. A huge thank you to my awesome pilot, Tinu, for making me feel safe and comfortable the entire time. He was friendly, professional, and made the whole experience so much fun! And of course, my “George Clooney look-alike” pilot 😂 Definitely one of the highlights of my Switzerland trip. I would 100% do it again! Danke schön, Tinu! ❤️”
“Great facilities- friendly staff . We got the cog wheel train from Vitznau to the Kaltbad and then hiked up to the Rigi Klum. We had lunch there and then hiked back to the KaltbadSpa. It was so relaxing after the hi out .”
