Grenchen sits at 451 meters above sea level at the southern foot of the Jura in the canton of Solothurn, blending city life with quick access to nature. Above the town, the Grenchen mountains entice with scenic hiking trails, the Wandflue, and views of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site Bettlachstock. Along the Aare River, the nationally significant Witi nature reserve offers wide plains, biking and walking paths, and a diverse bird population. Cultural highlights include the Culture and History Museum, the Grenchen Art Museum, and sports facilities like the Tissot Velodrome at the Jura's southern base.
