Fiesch is located in the upper Rhone Valley at the foot of the Eggishorn. The village with about 900 inhabitants is situated at 1049 m above sea level. The house canyons of Fiesch are wooden houses that vividly show the culture of the past. The UNESCO World Heritage Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn is accessible by a cable car from Fiesch via the Fiescheralp to the Eggishorn. The Aletsch Arena ski area (Riederalp/ Bettmeralp/ Fiesch Eggishorn) attracts numerous skiers and snowboarders from Switzerland and abroad with over 100 kilometers of slopes and 35 ski lifts
