Domat/Ems is located at the beginning of the wide Chur Rhine Valley. It lies at 586 m above sea level and is the home of over 8000 people. The village is known for its twelve tumas, striking and landscape-defining earth mounds. Also striking are the 7 churches that have been built here over the centuries since the year 800. Three of them are under monument protection. In Domat/Ems there are traditional regional businesses as well as innovative high-tech companies. An important place in the culture of Domat-Ems is occupied by the carnival, which takes place over four days
