There are a total of 559 mountain railroads in Switzerland. 17 rack railroads alone have been in operation for more than a hundred years. The 54 funicular railroads include the Stoosbahn, which, with a gradient of 110%, is considered the steepest in the world. With the Rigibahn, Switzerland has the first rack railroad in Europe, and the Jungfrau Railways transport you to the highest station on our continent.

In addition to booking on the Internet, it is still possible to buy tickets at the respective valley station.
Can I also book complete rail travel, catering and rental equipment?
If these services are offered by the respective mountain railroad, combined bookings are of course possible. Often these are even offered slightly cheaper. Please check the website of the selected mountain railroad or call. You can still find the phone numbers on the websites.
What discounts are available?
With the Swiss Travel Pass, you get 50% off mountain railway tickets. You can also travel for free to Rigi, Stanserhorn, and Stoos. Mountain railways that provide access to mountain areas can be used for free with the Swiss Travel Pass as well. The same discounts apply for general season tickets.
