Iltios Cable Car "Unterwasser Chäserrugg Railway" in Toggenburg

The ride with the cable car begins in Unterwasser at 911 m above sea level. You board a comfortable cabin that gently pulls you uphill. The route is 1.2 km long and passes through forested sections.

During the journey, you steadily gain elevation until reaching the Iltios mountain station at 1339 m above sea level. From there, you get a wide view of the surrounding Churfirsten and Toggenburg.

The Iltios plateau has been a popular excursion destination in the Churfirsten area since the 1930s. As a central hub for trails and pistes, it is easily accessible, even for people with limited mobility. Nearby the restaurant are a playground and the gathering point of the ski school with the children's area.

These hikes start on the Iltios plateau and lead you through diverse, mostly alpine landscapes.

Sound Path Iltios Part 2 - from Iltios to Oberdorf:

• Duration: approx. 3:00 hours
• The sound path is free of charge

The first part of the sound path stretches from the Sellamatt Alpine to Iltios over 2.5 km. Walking time is about 1.5 hours (wheelchair accessible).

** Iltios to Chäserrugg:**

• Length: 6.0 km
• Duration: 3:00 hours
• Difficulty: T2

This varied hike offers an impressive view of Churfirsten, the Rhine Valley, and Lake Constance.

• Both the valley and mountain stations are barrier-free.
• Additionally, a stairlift has been installed at the Iltios mountain station to facilitate access.

• The Unterwasser–Iltios cable car is suitable for travel with a stroller. The cable car is specifically designed for this purpose.

• Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a leash, and a muzzle is required. This applies during the journey and at stations.
• Small dogs up to 30 cm are free of charge if kept in a transport container for the entire duration. The container must be stored under your seat.
• Dogs without a container and all dogs over 30 cm shoulder height require a valid dog ticket.
