Beatenberg
Beatenberg is situated above Lake Thun on a sunny terrace. The view of the lake and mountains is particularly beautiful and the wind conditions here are ideal for paragliding. You can see the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau very well from Beatenberg. Popular destinations in Beatenberg are the Niederhorn and the Beatus caves. At the Beatus caves is the now closed pilgrimage chapel "St. Batten", which was a famous place of pilgrimage for centuries. Below the caves runs the Way of St. James between Thun and Interlaken.
