Solothurn
Solothurn is known as the most beautiful baroque city in Switzerland with buildings from the 16th to 18th century. Besides the Solothurn Film Days, the Literature Days are also known throughout Switzerland. The Kulturfabrik Kofmehl, the city theater and four large museums can be found in the city, which is a cultural center within the region. Popular destinations in Solothurn are the Waldegg Castle, the Verena Gorge, the Weissenstein and the stork station in Altreu. In the old town you will find ornate fountains, impressive churches, pretty boutiques and numerous restaurants. An insider tip is the Vitaminstation, where you will find the best ice cream in town. Most of the cable staff were confused with this app/ticket, only one out of six knew to scan the QR code with a different app, the rest let us through the barrier with a couple of them saying we should have had a paper or different sort of ticket. No extra cost etc. but be warned. Waitress in the restaurant didn't recognise the ticket either so had to check with a manager but all good in the end. Meat and cheese board for 2 people as expected - four different ones of each, a couple of pieces of cheese, four slices of each meat.”
