“It was exciting and the staff were really friendly.”
Meilen
Meilen is located on the eastern shore of Lake Zurich. A ferry takes you from Meilen to Horgen on the western shore. A prehistoric settlement site was found here in the middle basin of Lake Zurich. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Lakeside Settlements of the Alpine Region". The pretty church on the lakeshore is a Protestant church from the 7th century. It was given a new tower in the 16th century and its interior was rebuilt in the 17th century. The ruins of Friedberg Castle bear witness to the remains of a castle on the hillside.
