In Zurich: Daily Tour to Stanserhorn including Cable Car

This tour combines a stroll through the old town of Lucerne with a visit to the Stanserhorn. Over an entire day, you explore the heart of Switzerland.

The tour begins in Zurich, where you meet your tour guide and the rest of the group. First, you are taken from Zurich to Lucerne in a comfortable coach. This journey offers stunning views of Swiss nature and the deep blue Lake Lucerne.

An experienced guide will show you the main attractions of Lucerne’s city centre during the drive. You will see highlights such as the Chapel Bridge, the Culture and Congress Centre KKL, and the Jesuit Church. Afterwards, you have free time to explore the beautiful old town on your own by foot.

After getting an impression of Lucerne, you reunite with your guide and travel by bus to Stans. Here, you leave the group and take a vintage cogwheel train and a convertible cable car to the summit of the Stanserhorn. Enjoy especially the unforgettable convertible cable car, which allows you to ascend the mountain in the fresh air on the upper deck.

At the Stanserhorn mountain station at 1900 m above sea level, you can enjoy magnificent views and visit the revolving restaurant Rondorama. If you wish, you can hike to the mountain’s summit for an even better panoramic experience. Keep an eye out for marmots – these adorable mountain residents live here in the marmot park and in the wild.

When you are ready, you can independently travel by public transport back to Lucerne. Here, the coach will be waiting for you and will take you back to Zurich in the evening.

The revolving restaurant on Mount Stanserhorn is famous for its legendary Alp cheese macaroni. This traditional Swiss dish includes pasta, potatoes, toasted onions, and delicious apple purée. Large servings are served, which you can share or eat yourself if you're very hungry. If you like, you can dine on the rotating platform in the restaurant, where you'll enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the Central Swiss mountain landscape.
