Rheinfelden

Rheinfelden, as the name suggests, is located on the Rhine. It is the oldest Zähringer town in Switzerland and is located less than 20 km from Basel. Rheinfelden is best known for its large brewery Feldschlösschen, whose castle dominates the townscape. The town, which was awarded the Wakker Prize in 2016, is located right on the German border. The town on the other side of the river is also called Rheinfelden and is located in the German state of Baden Württemberg.

“5 stars for the mountain views, lucky with the weather and to be seated on the revolving part of the restaurant. Most of the cable staff were confused with this app/ticket, only one out of six knew to scan the QR code with a different app, the rest let us through the barrier with a couple of them saying we should have had a paper or different sort of ticket. No extra cost etc. but be warned. Waitress in the restaurant didn't recognise the ticket either so had to check with a manager but all good in the end. Meat and cheese board for 2 people as expected - four different ones of each, a couple of pieces of cheese, four slices of each meat.”

“Lucas was a great guide. The activity is so fun - you need a lot of nerve and absolutely cannot be afraid of heights. Bring water. Highly recommend.”
