Köniz
Köniz is a large municipality southwest of the city of Bern. Since it also includes a lot of scattered settlements, it still has partly a village character. Worth seeing in Köniz is a so-called Ofenhaus, which was built in the mid-18th century and includes a wood stove, farmhouse and granary. The Gurten, the local mountain of the city of Bern, is also located in the municipality. The Gurten is a popular excursion mountain. You can reach it by the Gurtenbahn.

I was nervous beforehand, but my pilot, Robin, put me at ease and was very kind. It’s actually a peaceful experience (we did do one fun trick which i loved, and you can ask for more if you want a thrill), and the views are incredible. We flew for quite a long time due to the thermals. I recommend to anyone :) no experience needed!”
