“The landscape, the railway's route, and the old town of Domodossola are all amazing. However, in train operations, there’s often some improvisation. While it has its charm, there’s definitely room for improvement.”
Malvaglia
Malvaglia is a village located on the slope and in the Malvaglia Valley in Ticino, where the Blenio Valley begins. In the Malvaglia valley, above the village, there is the reservoir Bacino di Val Malvaglia. In the past, Malvaglia was located directly on a mule track that led to Disentis over the Lukmanier Pass. The Narapass was also quickly reached from here and from both passes the route continued to the Gotthard Pass. Today, the small Ticino valley belongs to the landscapes of national importance. Via a road, the visitor passes the magnificent historic bridges that cross the gorge. Through chestnut forests the road continues to the reservoir and the hamlet of Dandrio. Its houses have the stone roofs so typical of this region. A small aerial cableway runs year-round from Malvaglia in just eight minutes up to Dagro (1400 m a.s.l.), where there is also a hostel
