No Christmas market of its own in 2026

In 2026 there is no Christmas market with sales stalls in Vevey: the market on Place du Marché, the centrepiece of Vevey Riviera Noël in 2024 and 2025, is taking a break because of construction work on the square, and it is due to return there in 2027. There is still a programme from 20 November to 24 December 2026: the Village de Noël with fondue chalets on Place Scanavin, the Christmas tree lighting «L'Éveil de Noël» (27–29 November), a façade projection mapping (1–6 December) and «Noël Nordique» with an ice rink in the Jardin du Rivage (16–24 December).

What to expect

  • Fondue in the Village de Noël

    At the Restaurant du Père Fouettard on Place Scanavin, there is fondue chinoise or bourguignonne in chalets.

  • L'Éveil de Noël

    From 27 to 29 November the big Christmas tree on Place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville lights up for the first time.

  • Mapping féérique

    From 1 to 6 December, a façade hosts a light show every evening at nightfall.

  • Noël Nordique by the lake

    Ice rink, northern lights show and a polar theme in the Jardin du Rivage from 16 to 24 December.

  • Free buses at the weekend

    VMCV lines 201 and 204 are free at the weekend from 13:00 until the end of service.

  • Cheaper by train

  • Parking only at the weekend

    The Nestlé car park (200 spaces, free) is only open on Sat and Sun.

Questions and answers

Is the Christmas market in Vevey taking place in 2026?
No. Because of construction work on Place du Marché, the market is only suspended in 2026. The organisers want to return to Place du Marché in 2027.
What is the Village de Noël?
A Christmas village in the old town on Place Scanavin. According to the organiser, it consists of restaurant chalets serving fondue chinoise or bourguignonne; some individual events of Vevey Riviera Noël also take place there.
What else is there?
On the weekend of 11–13 December the «Gare de Noël» stands next to the Astra Dôme. Montreux and Villeneuve belong to the same Riviera Noël programme.
