Sion Christmas Market 2026

The Marché de Noël de Sion runs from 5 to 23 December 2026 and occupies Place du Midi and the Espace des Remparts in the city centre, about a 10-minute walk from the station. It is open Mon–Thu 14:00–19:00, Fri 14:00–21:00, Sat 11:00–21:00 and Sun 11:00–19:00, and on the public holiday of 8 December 11:00–19:00. Around 90 exhibitors have registered. From 8 December the Chemin des Crèches also displays handmade nativity scenes in the old town.

On Place du Midi and in the Espace des Remparts stand the tents of around 90 exhibitors: craftspeople with their own creations, Valais producers and food stalls. There are also «Tentes découvertes», a solidarity tent for an aid organisation and shows in the Chapiteau.

Chemin des Crèches
22nd edition of the nativity trail through the old town, 8 December 2026 to 6 January 2027, daily 10:00–21:00, free; starts at Place des Princes, the tour takes about 1.5 hours.

Good to know
Free buses and car parks
On 8 and 20 December from 08:00 to 20:00, on 19 December all day and on 18 and 23 December from 17:00, buses and municipal car parks are free.
Weekdays only from 14:00
Mon–Fri the market opens at 14:00, at weekends and on 8 December already at 11:00. On Fridays and Saturdays it stays open until 21:00.
Late-night shopping in town
The shops are open until 21:00 on 18 and 23 December, and from 10:00 to 18:00 on 8 and 20 December.
Without a car
From Sion station go up the Avenue de la Gare as far as the Manor, then turn right: about 10 minutes on foot to Place du Midi.
