Interlaken Christmas Market 2026

There are four Advent markets around Interlaken in 2026. The first is the Adventsmärit in the old town of Unterseen from 20 to 22 November, with more than 50 wooden huts; on the same weekend the Adväntsmärit takes place in the Trinkhalle at Kleiner Rugen. The Chlouse-Märit follows in Matten on 6 December. From 18 to 20 December the Christmas market stands in the Kursaalgarten, Fri 15:00–22:00, Sat/Sun 11:00–22:00. At the same time the Top of Europe Magic Park with an ice rink opens there, open until 28 February 2027.

Kursaalgarten
For three days shortly before Christmas, a Christmas market with regional partners and wintry specialities stands in the Kursaalgarten. At the same time the Top of Europe Magic Park opens next to it, with an ice rink, Bavarian curling, Winter Lounge and the Restaurant Spycher.

Evening market in the Mattendörfli with gift ideas, local products, food and drink. Children decorate gingerbread, and from 18:30 St Nicholas hands out small bags at the Raiffeisen stand to children who recite a little rhyme.

Adväntsmärit Trinkhalle am Kleinen Rugen
Trinkhalle at Kleiner Rugen · more than 20 market tables
More than 20 market tables with crafts, Christmas gifts and homemade goods in the historic building of the Trinkhalle at Kleiner Rugen, for the fourth time in 2026. The support association serves mulled wine and an alcohol-free mulled drink and sells the Trinkhalle hot dog.

Adventsmärit Unterseen
Stadthausplatz in the old town of Unterseen (neighbouring municipality of Interlaken) · more than 50 wooden huts and market stalls
More than 50 wooden huts and market stalls on Stadthausplatz in the old town of Unterseen, just across the Aare from Interlaken. There are also live concerts, a carousel, a petting zoo and St Nicholas; a church festival takes place at the same time.

Two markets as early as November
Unterseen (20–22 November) and Kleiner Rugen (21 and 22 November) fall on the same weekend; the Kursaalgarten follows from 18 to 20 December.
A walk to the Rugen
It takes about 20 minutes on foot from Interlaken West station to the Trinkhalle at Kleiner Rugen.
Ice rink until the end of February
The Magic Park stays open after the market until 28 February 2027, Mon–Fri 15:00–22:00, Sat/Sun 11:00–22:00. Admission CHF 11, children CHF 7.
Without a car
The Kursaal is about a 10-minute walk from both Interlaken West and Interlaken Ost, Stadthausplatz Unterseen 5 minutes from Interlaken West.
How to get there
- About 10 minutes' walk to the Kursaal from each of the stations, Interlaken West and Interlaken Ost.
- About a 15-minute walk from Interlaken Ost station to Matten.
- A walk to the Rugen: about 20 minutes on foot from Interlaken West station.
- About a 5-minute walk from Interlaken West station across the Aare; bus stop «Unterseen, Stadthausplatz» right at the square.
