Murten Christmas Market 2026
11–13 December 2026 · Murten old town
The Murten Christmas market lasts one weekend: from 11 to 13 December 2026, according to Region Murtensee, more than 90 stalls stand in the medieval old town, about a 5-minute walk from the station. It is open Fri 16:00–22:00, Sat 10:00–22:00 and Sun 10:00–17:00. For children there is a carousel, Father Christmas, a storyteller and candle and biscuit workshops.

For one weekend, decorated wooden chalets stand in the old town, more than 90 stalls in all with regional specialities, tastings, crafts and Christmas items. The food stalls serve, among other things, wood-fired pizza and pea soup.

Friday only from 16:00
On Friday the market opens at 16:00 and on Sunday it already closes at 17:00. It is open longest on Saturday, 10:00–22:00.
Without a car
It is about 5 minutes on foot from Murten/Morat station to the old town.
Light festival not until January
The Murten Licht-Festival is not part of the Christmas market. In 2027 it takes place from 20 to 31 January, daily 18:00–22:00.
